Welcome New Editor
It is our great honor to welcome Prof. Perry Ping Shum from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, as a new editor for Opto-Electronic Advances (OEA). So far we totally have 22 outstanding experts from 11 countries or regions in OEA Editorial Broad.

Professor Shum received the B. Eng. and PhD degrees in electronic and electrical engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK, in 1991 and 1995, respectively. He is now a full professor in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He has been appointed as the Director of Network Technology Research Centre since 2002, and the Director of Centre for Optical Fibre Technology since 2014. He received the Singapore National Academy of Science Young Scientist Award in 2002. He is OSA Fellow, SPIE Fellow and the vice-president of IEEE Photonics Society. He is the chair, committee member and international advisor of many international conferences. Prof. Shum has published more than 500 international journal and conference papers, h-index 46. His research interests are concerned with optical communications, optical fiber design, modeling and applications.
